I made a little digital quilt of sorts using some photos of fabrics and/or patterns I dig in the shop at the moment! Peaches, aquas and reds seems to float in and out of my life.
Love the color, love it.

Vena Cava @ Fashion Week

Even though I work (mainly) in vintage clothing, my background is in higher-end, new fashion. Most styles are, in some way, shape or form, a recreation of a past trend so the two go hand in hand. Case in point, Vena Cava channeled some serious 90s' looks in their Fall debut at Fashion Week. Above are a few of my favorite looks. The cutouts and silhouettes remind me of some items I have here at Ramona Lou. Love the amazing rust-hued skirt in the center!

How to Give a Valentine Ramona Lou Style

Start with a simple vase like this delightful milk glass one ($14).

Add flowers. You can pick them from your own yard or try a local florist if your thumb isn't so green. Flowers say a lot without having to even whisper a word!

But if you have any words to say, for example, "I dig your style," or "you have a nice way about you," please do write them down in a card like this one from Carrot and Stick Press ($2.50).

If you REALLY like your Valentine, add some jewelry to the mix. This Erica Weiner bow and locket necklace ($40) is a nice choice. Good luck and remember to love your Valentine everyday of the year :)

One Crazy Belt

One of the best parts of my job is the freedom to invent and create as I please. Some days, dressing the mannequins comes more naturally than others. I usually begin with one item I want to use and build from there. Today's look is a little wacky but isn't that a perk of wearing vintage? Items pictured: vintage sweater skirt, medium ($18), vintage woven tank, petite large ($16), one crazy belt ($14), Three Corners Designs square crystal necklace ($35) and Erica Weiner skeleton key necklace ($32).

"A Few New Pieces and A Banana," an original screenplay by S. Naffz

Once there was a banana who fell in love with a mini knit caplet ($18).

She too loved him but, like so many other stories, their love grew tired. He left her under mutually bland feelings and circumstances for a vintage belted dress ($32) named Dawn Joy.

Ms. Joy brought the banana a to a whole new level, or so he thought. Her kindness quickly turned into an obsessive situation. He saw the warning signs. There were red flags everywhere. One night, he left her. He changed his name to Saffron, a spice he knew she despised.

Saffron had a rebound relationship with a fitted mini dress ($24) who reminded him of his favorite Robert Palmer song. She was, after all, simply irresistible. Their courtship was fast and fiery and also ended amicably. The mini had to get back to Vegas, Saffron, back to reality.

The story ends on a high note. Saffron found a love like no other with Duck, Duck, Duck, a perfectly worn sweatshirt who fulfilled his three true desires. They settled down on a decent piece land, with plenty of sunshine and fresh water. Life was was simple and they were happy and to them, that was gold.

Ear Time

These all feel pretty '80s to me in their own unique ways! Something about the variety of shapes in this batch is refreshing too! They are priced at $12 a pair! Please note the multicolored zigzag pair are clip-ons!

Credenza in the House!

This curvy credenza made it's way into Ramona Lou yesterday. It's
going to be a great addition to the other mismatched furniture through-
out the shop! I think the shoes were a bit lonely on the floor anyhow!

This collage is an end-of-the-day hot shot post. Photos include: my own indecisive mixed-fabric outfit, a hot-pink raffle-tunity (note necklace/succulent curtain backdrop), a rad Esprit purse that STILL has not sold but keeps my nostalgia on track and a patch of a dress that aids in my obsession with animal prints.
